Sangoran Wayfarer's Armour Set

Last updated: September 2, 2026

The Sangoran Wayfarer's Armour Set is a pre-order and special-edition early unlock, not permanently exclusive equipment. Bandai Namco has stated it can also be obtained later through normal game progression. No official stat block, armour class, upgrade path, set bonus or acquisition method for the in-game route has been published, so do not buy an edition on the strength of a claimed combat advantage.

What the set actually is

The Sangoran Wayfarer's Armour Set is an outfit bearing the emblem of a nameless travelling smith. It is offered as a pre-order bonus and is bundled with several of the game's special editions.

The practical distinction is timing, not access. Eligible purchases unlock the set early, while everyone else can acquire it later in the game through normal progression. It is not a permanent exclusive.

Because it arrives at the start for pre-order buyers, its main value is cosmetic and situational: it gives Coen a distinct look and a functional armour piece from the opening hours, before the world has handed you anything better.

Which editions include it

EditionWhat it includes
Standard EditionBase game. Armour set applies where a pre-order bonus is offered.
Eclipse Edition (digital)Base game, digital World Compendium, digital comic book, digital soundtrack, plus the Sangoran Wayfarer's Armour Set where applicable.
Day 1 Edition (physical)Base game, SteelBook, world map, and the pre-order armour set.
Collector's EditionA 23cm PureArts Coen figurine, a 60-page hardcover World Compendium, a 33 x 40cm world map, the SteelBook, and the Eclipse Edition's digital extras.

Availability varies by retailer

Whether the armour set is attached to a given purchase depends on the storefront and the region. Official material frames it as a pre-order bonus where applicable rather than a guaranteed inclusion with every copy.

Check the current store listing before buying if the set is the reason you are choosing one edition over another. This is the single most common point of confusion around it.

On PC the game is sold through Steam, GOG and Xbox on PC, with Xbox Play Anywhere support meaning one digital Xbox purchase covers console and PC. The game is also confirmed for Xbox Cloud Gaming.

What has not been published

This is the important part. No official stat block, upgrade path, armour class, transmog rule or set bonus has been released for the Sangoran Wayfarer's Armour Set.

The official page also does not publish the in-game route: there is no confirmed quest, vendor, location, price or required level for obtaining it through normal progression. The only confirmed fact is that such a route exists.

Any guide quoting exact defence values, resistances or set bonuses for this armour is going beyond what has been verified. Treat all of it as unconfirmed until it can be checked against the released game.

How it fits the wider gear system

Armour in The Blood of Dawnwalker comes in light, medium and heavy weights, with rarity tiers running from common to legendary. Rarer pieces carry more passive buffs, and those buffs frequently matter more than a higher raw armour rating.

Equipment also carries day, night or dual icons, and some pieces cannot be used in the wrong phase. Whether the Sangoran Wayfarer's set is restricted to one phase has not been stated, so check its icons in-game.

Medium and heavy armour carry stat penalties until you take the Second Skin perks in the Swordmastery tree. If the set falls into either weight, it will underperform until those perks are unlocked.

Should you buy an edition for it?

On the available evidence, no — not for the armour alone. It is an early unlock of something you can otherwise earn, and none of its combat properties have been published, so there is nothing verified to weigh against the price difference.

The other edition contents are a firmer basis for a decision: the World Compendium, soundtrack, comic, SteelBook, map and figurine are all concrete deliverables with no ambiguity about what you receive.

One practical note for physical buyers: the disc release is content complete and does not require a day-one update to boot, but the 60 FPS performance mode is not baked into the disc and arrives via the launch patch.

Upgrading it if you use it

A blacksmith can upgrade gear up to one level above your current character level, which raises both base stats and the strength of its passive buffs. That applies to any piece you intend to keep using rather than to this set specifically.

Because enemies and loot get stronger the further south you travel, early armour is generally a stopgap. Expect the set to be outclassed on raw numbers at some point, at which point its value becomes cosmetic — assuming a transmog system exists, which has not been announced.

Coen carries up to 300 items with two presets, so there is no storage cost to keeping the set around after you stop wearing it.

Still to be confirmed

  • The set's armour class, stats, resistances and any set bonus — no official values published.
  • The in-game acquisition route: quest, vendor, location, price and required level are all unpublished.
  • Whether the set is day-only, night-only or usable in both forms — to be confirmed.
  • Whether a transmog or appearance system exists that would let you keep the look after outgrowing the stats — not announced.
